Bedni Bugyal Trek

Considered amongst the finest high altitude grasslands in the Garhwal mountains (altitude 3354 metres) famous for wild high altitude flowers and herbs during the spring thaw, and offering a splendid view of the Greater Himalayan range. Arguably one of the most romantic spots in the Himalayas - virgin meadows greet the visitor, for as far as the eye can see, scenic mountains, deep valleys and lofty mountains present the most memorable sunsets and sunrises, and above alll, the enormous western flank of Trishul and the Nanda Ghunti overlooks this heaven on earth! One of the larger Bugyals (High altitude meadows) in Uttaranchal, The Vaitarni lake (also called the Bedni Kund) is located in this region, and is famous for the rare Brahma Kamal flower, and is also a major way-station on the Nanda Raj Jaat Yatra, a ritual procession held every 12 years. Dayara Bugyal Trek

Bugyal in the local mountain dialect means "High Altitude Meadow". Dayara Bugyal is one of the most beautiful places in Uttaranchal, situated at an elevation ranging from 10,000 - 12,000 ft. This vast meadow is second to none in natural beauty in Uttarakhand. The possibility of Nordic as well as Alpine skiing are immense here, since during winter it provides one of the best ski slopes in India spread over an area of 28 sq/kms.
The road to Dayara Bugyal branches off near Bhatwari- a little township on Uttarkashi Gangotri road about 35 kms. From Uttarkashi, Vehicles can go up to the village of Raithal from where one has to trek a steep incline covering a distance of about 7 kms to reach Dayara and the other route is via village Barsu, 10 kms from Bhatwari from where one has to trek about 8kms to Dayara Bugyal.

Dodital , the lake Trek

Dodital, the lake with a lot of mythological history is a very happening trekking destination at the present age. Dodital is the birth place of "Lord Ganesha" and is said to have witnessed the beheading of the deity by "Lord Shiva". Gangotri-Gaumukh Tapovan Trek

"Gaumukh" is where the water of Ganges trickles down from the glaciers. The sages called it "Gaumukh", because in the distant past, it probably appeared like a cow’s mouth, though today it is no longer appears so. It is the source of river Ganges. Kagbhushandi and Kankul Pass Trek

This is a small oblong lake with emerald green water. It is at an altitude of 5230 mts., near Kankul Pass(5230 mts.), and is almost a kilometer in length. Myriad blossoms decorate its banks during the season, a wildest profusion of colours make the trekker forget the hardships and the exhaustion of the trek. Set in the lap of Hathi Parvat (6730 mts.), the lake can be approached either from Bhiundhar village, near Ghangria, or from Vishnu Prayag. The trek from the former is a little easier in gradient, but is longer.

The trek from Bhiundhar passes through thick bear-infested, forests and stretches of stinging nettles. The only shelters here are the shepherd huts. This trek also involves walking long distances across glacial moraines and over slippery rocks. Two huge rocks on a spur of Hathi Parvat are described as a crow (Kaga) and an Eagle (Garuda). The locals believe that the crow is animatedly conversing with Garuda on the affairs of the universe. Another version has it that a learned Brahmin of Ayodhya once incurred the wrath of the sage Lomas who lived here and was changed into the form of crow by the sage

Khatling Sahasratal Trekking

The Khatling glacier, the extremely beautiful glacier, is the source of the river Bhilangana. A legend behind Bhilangana origin says that Bhilangana, a divine spirit tried to tempt Lord Shiva. She was rejected by him and distorted into a liquid form and thus, originated the river Bhilangana. Sahasratal and Masartal are on the west and east of Khatling glacier. This glacier is enclosed by snow capped peaks of the Jogin group (6466 m), Barte Kauter (6579 m), Sphetic Pristwar (6905 m), Kirti Stambh (6902 m) and Meru. Kuari Pass Trek: Lord Curzon Trail

The Kuari (virgin) Pass trek is a Highly varied & scenic trek which passes Through three lesser Passes & five major rivers the Pinder, Kaliganga, Nandakini, Birehiganga & Dhauli Ganga.

In 1905, Lord Curzon reached Kuari Pass (4652 m). Kuari-pass means door way . He made the trek, and since then it is also known as the Curzon trail. The main attraction of it is the imposing view of the eastern peaks of Garhwal Himalayas, the twin peaks of Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dronagiri, Trishul, Bertholi, Hathi Ghodi Parvat, Mana, and Neelkanth peaks. The trek passes through Pristine Rhododendron, oak and deodar forest. Rarely Himalayan flora and fauna are found as plenty as on this trail.

Roopkund Glacier Trek

Roopkund is situated in Chamoli district of Garhwal. The road head for roopkund is lohajung 155km from Almora, 217km from Nainital and 235km from Kathgodam. "Roopkund" situated at a height of 5029m in the lap of Trishuli massif. This area is usually called is the ‘mystery lake’, since human skeletons and remains of horses from the Paleolithic age were found here. The lake is surrounded by rock-strewn glacier and snow clad peaks. The starting point of the trek is lohajung, easily approached by motor from Almora. "Roopkund" can also be reached by ghat, connected by a motorable road with Nanda Prayag situated on the main highway of Badrinath. The trek of "Roopkund" passes through lush green grassy land and conifer forest clining into the sloper of hills. The trek thereafter winds its way along the Pindar River.
