This day trip is a mix of lots of nature, spirituality, amazing scenery, little hike to the temple Surkhanda(2900mts), Himalayas and an amazing countryside lifestyle. The trek to Sukhandha temple from Kaddukhal passes through the rich forest of Silver oak, rhododendrons and at some places the Deodar.
The temple is dedicated to Goddess Sati. Every year there is a big festival in respect of the Mother Sati. On a very clear day from the temple you can also view the Himalayas with its magnificent peaks. Another part of the trip falls in Kanatal valley. For a day trip this is one of the best valley which is in an easy approach from crowdy Rishikesh.
We start early morning drive to Khadukhal village approx. 2.5 - 3 hrs. From here we follow a trail for next 1-1.5 hrs which leads us to Temple Surkhanda. The trail passes through the thick forest of Silver oak, pine and deodar.
On a clear day from temple you can view the Great Himalayan Peaks. Later we trek down from another face of the mountain and walk down to the road from where we board our vehicles to camp for Lunch.
Later we explore the Kanatal valley with a nature walk. Enjoy your lunch with the great valley view.
After spending and exploring much of nature we drive approx. for 3 hrs back to Rishikesh. Trip ends.

Note : From Mid-March till Mid-October there is a very little possibility to see the Himalayas. In summer and rainy season the climate is very hazy and misty.
